How Our DFH Division Starts the Year Strong: Inside Our Annual Kickoff Meeting

At South Jersey Glass & Door, we believe that a strong year starts with a strong team—and that’s exactly why our Doors, Frames, and Hardware (DFH) Division hosts an annual kickoff meeting every January. Led by Doug Cavagnaro, Head of the DFH Division, this gathering brings together team members from every corner of the department—office staff, warehouse crew, and field technicians—to reflect, realign, and recharge.

This yearly tradition goes beyond reviewing numbers or outlining project goals. It’s a chance to celebrate accomplishments, acknowledge challenges, and most importantly, foster open dialogue across all roles and responsibilities. Every voice matters in DFH, and the kickoff meeting provides a dedicated space to listen, learn, and lead together.

A Culture of Recognition and Collaboration

Doug opened the meeting by recognizing the adaptability, efficiency, and resilience demonstrated by every department within DFH. He emphasized that success in our division is only possible through collaboration and consistent communication—values that define our work culture and drive our results.

Throughout the session, Doug highlighted key lessons from the past year, focusing on how the team’s shared commitment to improvement has strengthened operations across the board. He also expressed deep appreciation for the dedication shown daily by estimators, project managers, installers, supervisors, fabricators, and delivery drivers alike.

Leadership Insights That Inspire

The meeting featured insights from key DFH leaders, including:

  • Josh Dacy, Director of Estimating
  • Nick Pustizzi, Director of Project Management
  • Brian Trivelli, Director of Production
  • Matt Mufalli, Co-owner of South Jersey Glass & Door

Matt reminded the team that, “Consistency is what separates us,” reinforcing how discipline and reliability continue to shape the DFH division’s success and reputation.

Empowering Open Dialogue

One of the most impactful parts of the meeting was the open-floor discussion, where team members from every role shared their thoughts, ideas, and appreciation for one another. This forum not only fosters transparency but also strengthens morale, reminding everyone that every role is essential and every voice is valued.

The energy in the room was electric—proof that when a team feels heard, seen, and supported, incredible things happen.

Looking Ahead

As we move into another busy year, the DFH Division is more aligned and motivated than ever. This annual meeting sets the tone—grounding us in our values while pushing us to aim higher together.

A huge thank you to Doug for his leadership and continued dedication to empowering the DFH team. Your passion and commitment truly make all the difference.
