This groundbreaking facility serves not only as an extraordinary public destination, but also as a vital part of Rowan University’s mission to educate and advance research in plant and animal biodiversity, earth sciences, and environmental responsibility—all through the gateway study of paleontology. South Jersey Glass & Door was tasked with the responsibilities of expertise when it came to carefully selecting the materials used that would maintain both aesthetic and durability.

HOW

To match the innovative and educational mission of the museum, South Jersey Glass & Door’s Commercial Doors, Frames, and Hardware Department was honored to help bring the facility’s vision to life with durable, design-forward installations.

Custom Fabricated Doors & Hardware

The project featured two visually distinct wood veneers sourced from VT Industries:

• Douglas Fir with a clear finish
• Bamboo with a rich caramel stain

These materials aligned seamlessly with the architectural intent, bringing warmth, natural beauty, and character to the interior spaces.

For long-term performance and safety in the museum’s high-traffic environment, we outfitted each opening with high-quality hardware, including:

• McKinney hinges
• Accentra panic bars and door closers
• Rockwood door stops, kick plates, and pull handles

Each door was prefabricated in-house, allowing for a seamless, efficient installation process and tight quality control from start to finish.
